This past weekend was exciting for many gamers around the world. Over twenty-five thousand gamers from all fifty states and over sixty countries flew, drove, and/or Uber’d their way to the Anaheim Convention Center, as they have for the past ten conventions. How Political Memes Helped Kill Virtual Reality

Virtual Reality has been buzzing around for the past few years, thanks to the Oculus Rift pushing the idea of modern VR technology into light. I believe around 2013 or 2012 was the time frame in which it took off with early production models of the Oculus Rift for developers and enthusiasts with money to spare (usually for their YouTube crowd). Oculus has definitely been headlining this push for years, but more recently, Oculus has been in the headlines for a movement that has divided and politicized gaming.
